Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks for Mar. 18

Last time I wrote a lineup for Sports Jerks it was a Saturday night with a limited game schedule. That lineup ended up with 305 points, good enough to double your money in any of FanDuel’s Double-Up tournaments and should have won most head-to-heads and even snag some money in the big tourneys. The lineups success was mainly due to Tim Duncan‘s monster night and a solid sleeper pick in Josh McRoberts. It also helped that Kevin Garnett was a late scratch, which screwed up many a lineup. Today will feature a healthy number of games which will give you a vast number of options. Here is what I am going with tonight:

Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams

PG: Deron Williams $8,400: Deron squares off against Detroit and a very generous defender in Jose Calderon. Williams is savvy enough to take advantage of this matchup and should eclipse 30 fdp easily which makes him one of the better PG options if you are looking to allocate some salary there.

PG: Steve Blake $4,000: Last night the Lakers went with a seven man rotation sans Kobe yet still took down the Kings. Now they have to travel to Phoenix. Blake has been the main beneficiary of Kobe’s absence, seeing over 30 mins in the last two games. A great sleeper pick as he is sure to see good minutes again tonight.

SG: Dwyane Wade $9,600: The only elite option available at SG due to Kobe probably missing another contest and Brad Beal slowly being worked back into the Wizards rotation. The drop off between Wade and the next best option is quite remarkable. Wade should be able to find holes in the Boston D that will most likely be playing small if Kevin Garnett misses another game.

SG: Gordon Hayward $6,000: Hayward has been inserted into the starting lineup for the Jazz and this is a juicy matchup against a banged up Knicks squad. He also is starting at the 3 meaning he should avoid being matched up against Iman Shumpert, who is an elite defender.

SF: Kyle Korver $4,700: Korver is a good bet for 25+ against this soft Mavs D that could be without Shawn Marion for another game.

SF: Paul George $8,400: On any given night George can match LBJ’s point total and he comes $1,500 dollars cheaper at the moment. George has the capability to take over a game and is one of the league’s young superstars so this is a no brainer.

PF: Anthony Davis $7,600: The last time I picked Davis he started off brilliantly but got into major foul troubled early and rode the pine for almost the entire game from then on. Here he faces a soft Golden State D and the non-existent defense of David Lee. Davis will probably be busy all night and should end up with 30+.

PF: Markieff Morris $4,400: Morris is starting to emerge from the crowded Suns backcourt and relegating his brother Marcus and Luis Scola to the bench with limited minutes. The Lakers are really bad at stopping opposing PF’s although they shut down Sacramento’s Jason Thompson last night. Morris could easily give you 25-30 which is what you at least hope for in a sub-5000 salary bargain player.

C: Roy Hibbert $6,600: Hibbert should be able to beast against the big men of the Cavs. Hibbert is consistently one of the best values at center as long as he stays out of foul trouble. If David West misses the game with a lower back strain he suffered in the previous contest then Hibbert will have even more value.

Total Daily Fantasy NBA Salaries: $59,700
